Rose (Russell) disapproves of adultery even though her three closes friends are all entangled with married men. Through the delights and dilemmas of their infidelity, she can see that it is always the women who suffer most. Rose would never hurt another woman for the sake of a man and convinces herself that she will never succumb to the temptation that a married man may offer.

When Rose decides to give up her job and return to the university to study photography, she meets Paul, her lecturer. As she spends more and more time with Paul, she finds herself drawn to him. Though her better judgment tells her to pull away, the sexual attraction is too strong to resist.
