Episode One: Tricked into returning to Scotland by his eccentric father and dotty mother, Archie discovers he is now the Laird of the decaying family estate.
Episode Two: A ruthless banker has come to foreclose on Glenbogle Estate, and it's up to Archie to use every method at his disposal to prevent his family from being thrown out on their ears.
Episode Three: Archie's city slicker girlfriend, Justine, pays Glenbogle a visit and is not very pleased when he sees the chemistry between the dashing young Laird and the lovely schoolteacher, Katrina.
Episode Four: An expert genealogist discovers a long-lost diary that once belonged to Katrina's mother, which contains some startling revelations about Katrina's link to the MacDonald family.
Episode Five: Archie's troublesome sister, Lillie, turns up with her New Age boyfriend, Gerald, intent on converting Glenbogle into a healing center.
Episode Six: Archie competes against rival Laird Kilwillie in the Highland's annual boat race across the loch.

Series 2
Archie MacDonald has finally pledged himself to Glenbogle, but now faces a titanic struggle to make the estate turn a profit. The young Laird has visionary plans for his ancient homestead, but encounters fresh challenges at every turn from rebellions tenants, local vendettas, scheming gold diggers, not to mention his eccentric family and the three beautiful young women who are all vying for his affection.
Episode One: Archie must gamble all to resurrect his inheritance but his plans are thrown off course when the estate's bankers arrive.
Episode Two: Archie and Hector go head to head as they battle for possession of a rare and valuable barrel of whisky.
Episode Three: Hector must dig deep to save Archie's bacon after a vital grant application is rejected. Hector is forced to confront old flame, Edith Rankin, the fearsome council leader, whose feelings of rejection are still burning.
Episode Four: Archie wants to forget about his 30th birthday but Millie and Hector organize secret celebrations. Hector resolves to marry Archie off.
Episode Five: Molly's gambling addiction threatens to bankrupt the MacDonald family when she falls foul of a hard-bitten Glasgow gangster.
Episode Six: Archie finds himself caught in the mother of all catfights when Lexie's estranged mother wants to hold her wedding at Glenbogle.
Episode Seven: The arrival of a pregnant Lizzie provokes Hector into disowning his errant daughter. Archie races against time to reconcile the warring clan.
Episode Eight: A distant relative from the US stakes a claim to Glenbogle and Archie invokes the "chieftains challenge" to determine who is the rightful laird.
